Description

As our Trade Marketeer, you are responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies that strengthen brand visibility and drive sales performance for our Unilever brands. You translate brand and marketing plans into effective trade activations that enhance product presence in retail channels and improve in-store execution.

In this role, you work closely with sales, brand marketing, and digital marketing teams to ensure that campaigns are effectively implemented in the field and aligned with overall commercial objectives. You also collaborate with distributors, retailers, and external suppliers to ensure that point-of-sale materials, promotions, and activations are executed successfully.

This position requires a commercially driven professional with strong analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to translate marketing strategies into practical retail execution that delivers measurable results.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a comparable commercial field
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in trade marketing, retail marketing, or channel marketing, preferably within the FMCG or consumer goods industry
Language: Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
Additional: Experience with retail activation, POS development and trade marketing campaigns

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate brand and marketing strategies into effective trade marketing activations
  • Develop and manage the annual trade marketing calendar
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including product launches and loyalty programs
  • Develop point-of-sale (POS) materials, displays, and in-store marketing concepts
  • Ensure proper implementation of planograms and optimize shelf space and secondary placements
  • Strengthen product visibility and increase share of shelf in retail environments
  • Analyze promotional performance, including sell-in versus sell-out results
  • Monitor product rotation by customer and category to identify growth opportunities
  • Conduct return-on-investment (ROI) analyses on trade marketing activations
  • Manage the trade marketing budget and monitor campaign costs
  • Coordinate with external suppliers for printing, displays, and promotional materials
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Brand Marketing, and Digital Marketing teams to align messaging and activations
  • Support the rollout of trade initiatives with the Sales team and brief Trade Marketing Officers on campaign execution
  • Prepare reports on trade marketing performance and provide insights to management
