Shop Assistant (CJIA)

Reports to: Duty-Free Supervisor

Location: Timehri, Guyana

Description

As a Duty-Free Shop Assitant, you are responsible for welcoming, assisting, and advising customers in our Duty-Free Shop located at CJIA (national airport). You primarily serve travelers commuting to and from Guyana. Your role is essential in ensuring high customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets.

You contribute to a clean, well-stocked, and secure shop environment, where every customer receives friendly and professional service.

Requirements

  • VOS (or equivalent) level of education and thinking
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar customer service or retail environment
  • Customer-oriented and service-minded
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Honest, helpful, and cooperative attitude
  • Physically fit and capable of performing light manual tasks
  • Key Responsibilities

    1. Customer Service & Sales
      • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
      • Recommend products based on customer needs and preferences
      • Promote new arrivals, offers, and loyalty programs
      • Handle customer inquiries and complaints appropriately
    1. Store Operations
      • Label and price store items accurately
      • Restock shelves and ensure the sales floor is clean and organized
      • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge
      • Support visual merchandising and display setup
      • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets
