IT Manager

Description

Simextra International N.V. is looking for a proactive and solution-oriented IT Manager to join our team in Paramaribo.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the company’s day-to-day IT operations and ensuring that our employees have the technology, systems, and support they need to work effectively. You will act as the central point of contact for IT-related matters and will work closely with management, employees, and external IT service providers.

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent organizational and communication skills and who enjoys taking ownership of IT-related challenges.

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience; experience in an IT coordination or management role is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, networks, and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, system administration, and user support.
  • Knowledge of IT security, backups, access management, and data protection.
  • Experience working with external IT service providers is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • A proactive, service-oriented, and hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day IT operations of the organization.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding hardware, software, Microsoft Office, and other business applications.
  • Manage and follow up on IT incidents, requests, and technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems remotely and on-site when required.
  • Coordinate the installation, configuration, maintenance, and replacement of computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Maintain the company’s IT asset, software, and license records.
  • Coordinate IT maintenance, updates, backups, and security-related activities.
  • Work closely with external IT providers and suppliers and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Participate in and coordinate IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, and improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, systems, security, and efficiency.
  • Assist management with IT-related purchasing, budgeting, and technology decisions.
  • Ensure that IT policies, procedures, and documentation are properly maintained.
  • Keep management informed about IT risks, incidents, developments, and recommendations.
