Facility Officer

Reports to: Facility Manager

Location: Paramaribo, Suriname

Description

As our Facility Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained work environment across our construction sites and buildings. You will be responsible for facility management, general maintenance, and supporting small construction-related projects. As the main point of contact for facility-related matters, you will collaborate with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth operations and a high standard of workplace upkeep.

This position requires a hands-on, proactive professional who enjoys working in a dynamic and technical environment and takes pride in maintaining an organized and efficient workspace.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Construction or a Technical field
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English (Dutch is an advantage)
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in technical design software, Outlook, and Excel

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and updating of architectural drawings and construction plans
  • Prepare cost estimates for small-scale projects
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing technical data and project information
  • Prepare project documentation and reports
  • Request and compare quotations from suppliers and contractors
  • Support the management of project schedules and deadlines
  • Contribute to on-site inspections and quality control activities
  • Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist in coordinating teamwork and communication across departments
  • Manage and organize project files and records
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks for buildings and facilities
