Duty-Free Operations Supervisor (CJIA)

Location: Timehri, Guyana

Description

The Duty-Free Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Duty-Free departments. This role involves managing teams, implementing procedures, and ensuring compliance with airport and organizational standards. The Supervisor drives operational excellence through strategic planning, team leadership, and a strong focus on service quality and safety. A key focus is maintaining a productive, compliant, and customer-friendly environment that supports the broader goals of the organization.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Language: Proficient in English (spoken and written)
Experience: Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or operational role, preferably in retail or logistics

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for efficient workflow
  • Supervise day-to-day operations and oversee the performance of multiple teams
  • Ensure full compliance with airport Duty-Free regulations and legal standards
  • Enforce safety protocols in accordance with airport guidelines
  • Monitor employee and team performance, providing coaching and constructive feedback
  • Forecast and allocate resources to meet business goals
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure operational alignment with company objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure service and product standards are met
  • Apply strong supervisory skills to manage inventory and support sales activities
  • Oversee workforce planning and staff rosters
  • Promote a culture of innovation, efficiency, and collaboration
  • Stay current with industry trends and Duty-Free best practices
  • Evaluate and implement new operational systems and business processes as needed
